Mrs. Katnani’s Notes
What a whirlwind these past two weeks have been! Missing two days last week and two days this week was certainly a challenge for me and for the students. However, 5K did AWESOME! I received good reports from both substitute teachers and was so proud that they were able to work cooperatively and respectfully while I was out! We also had a new student join 5K this week! A warm welcome to Freddie and his family to 5K and Foster Elementary School!
Review of This Week
Math – We jumped right into partial quotients division this week. This can be a tough skill for students to master especially when we are dividing with larger numbers.
Science – We finished Topic 1 Properties of Matter and students took their first science test. See the post below for an inside peek!
Social Studies – We are almost finished with our archaeology unit! Most students are finished digging, cleaning, and gluing back together!
Writing – Last week, students wrote a diagnostic, expository paragraph. They were allowed to write about any topic. This week, we are writing expository paragraphs on archaeology! These will go in our scrapbooks with pictures of our archaeology pot project.
Early Release 11:30 Wed 10-3
Math Test – Thur 10-4 (Date changed!)
No school – Mon 10-8
5K is still in need of cleaning supplies! In order to stay healthy, we try to clean our desks, chairs, and other surfaces once in a while. This is especially important once cold and flu season begins. Clorox (or similar-brand) cleaning wipes would be most useful as well as hand sanitizer. Of course, donations are optional, but would be much appreciated!
